Nancy Malay is an artist residing in southern Minnesota. She graduated from college with a B.S. degree in Marketing and Public Relations and worked at many different jobs over the years. But, she was always happiest when creating. Her website launched about 10 years ago and this opened up a whole new world for her.
Nancy usually starts her day very early in the morning in her cozy home studio, with a cup of coffee in hand and her dog, Zoey, perched on a chair beside her. Life is good, as creating one-of-a-kind, vintage-inspired collectibles for every Holiday is her bliss! She specializes in nostalgic and whimsical figures, with lots of sparkle and texture.
She is the first to admit that she's a perfectionist, meticulously handcrafting each item, using paper mache, paper clay and cloth. Embellishments of mica, antique trimmings, German glass glitter and tinsel give each figure its own personality.
She feels fortunate that her work has been published 35 times in magazines such as Better Homes & Gardens Holiday Crafts, Prims, Create & Decorate, Studios, and more. Nancy was chosen by Early American Life magazine to be listed in the Directory of Traditional American crafts in 2008, 2011 and 2012. Besides selling her original art, she is also a licensed designer for Midwest-CBK and has done contract work for Ashton-Drake and Sculpey.
Nancy has been married 33 years to her patient, supportive husband, Rick and they have 3 sons (and now, 3 beautiful daughter-in-laws!) They also just became Grandparents for the first time in June.
